Phoenix – Former Congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon recently spoke at an event hosted by Citizens for America in Sedona, Arizona.
Salmon spoke about how he’ll strengthen the integrity of our elections and stand up for Arizona’s law enforcement officers as governor. He praised Sheriff Rhodes’ successful efforts to uphold law and order in Yavapai County as a model that the rest of the state should emulate.
Matt Salmon On Upholding Law And Order:
“I am such a big fan of Sheriff Rhodes. He’s done so many amazing things in Yavapai County, and I brag about his jail re-entry program … That’s what it’s all about: Helping people to get out of that cycle of crime and, if they’re mentally ill or addicted to drugs or alcohol, finding a way for them to get off of it. I like it so much that I want every county in Arizona to follow suit with what the sheriff has done.”
Matt Salmon On Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Officers:
“This is going to be the best state in the country to be a cop. We’ve got your backs. We will do everything we can. We will pass laws in this state to punish those cities that try to take away qualified immunity from our officers … We will defund them if they try to defund the police. We’ve got to play hardball.”
Matt Salmon On Strengthening The Integrity Of Our Elections:
“We’ve got to ensure that every vote cast in the state has to produce an ID. You have to show that you’re a citizen of the state and country. I put out a 10-point plan … It’s called the Voter Bill of Rights … Not harder to vote, just harder to cheat.”
