Phoenix – Former Congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon today issued a statement calling on Arizona State University to initiate an investigation into the harassment of Kyle Rittenhouse by fellow students:
“It is completely outrageous that left-wing student groups are allowed to engage in a dangerous, ongoing harassment campaign against Kyle Rittenhouse, a fellow online ASU student, while university bureaucrats sit on their hands.
“It was only two months ago that campus activists were caught on video bullying young people for supporting law enforcement. This latest effort by student groups — affiliated with the socialism and Palestine movements — to brand Rittenhouse as a ‘blood-thirsty murderer’ and have him expelled is a cut-and-dry case of harassment that need to be nipped in the bud and then thoroughly investigated.
“These fringe agitators appear to be taking their cues from Katie Hobbs, a demagogue who smeared Rittenhouse as a ‘malicious’ murderer and white supremacist, despite an informed jury declaring him not guilty.
“It is time for the far-left to respect our judicial system, and it is time for administrators at ASU to stand up for the rule of law and protect their students from these thugs.”
