Phoenix – Former Congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon today announced the formation of his Veterans Coalition.
This group of American heroes forms the foundation of a coalition that will advise the campaign’s policy agenda on issues related to all aspects of the care earned by Arizona’s veterans; the transition of veterans after their service; programs and training to ensure veterans are better able to obtain high-quality jobs; and how policies should better recognize and make use of veterans’ experience and expertise.
“I am eternally grateful for the founding members of our Veterans Coalition who have put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we cherish. I had the great fortune of meeting countless servicemembers and veterans during my time in public office who shared with me the good and the difficulty that comes with sacrifice. I look forward to working with this coalition to ensure that the State of Arizona is living up to the promises we make to the men and women in our nation’s uniform and to their families,” said Salmon.
Robert (‘Bob’) Codney, the chairman of the Veterans Coalition, said, “I want to thank Matt Salmon for forming this coalition, and I especially want to thank the founding members who have stepped forward to offer their unique voices. Too often, politicians pursue ‘feel-good measures’ without consulting those whom the policies affect. Listening to and learning from these men and women will guarantee that Arizona becomes the best state in the nation for servicemembers and veterans to live, work, and raise a family.”
