To my supporters, the best in Arizona,
As you know, I have decided to end my campaign for governor of Arizona. It was an incredibly difficult decision for me to make – one that Nancy and I prayed on for a very long time – but it is the right thing to do.
It became clear to me in recent days that the path to a first-place victory on August 2nd is no longer a mathematical possibility. If it were, I would have stayed in the race and kept fighting. But this campaign has never been about me. It is about you – and Republicans deserve more than having their votes split in the primary.
I entered this race because I believe that our country is at a crossroads and that it’s going to take strong conservative governors to turn things around. I believe that even more today.
I am so grateful for the men and women who supported me this year. It was an honor to meet you, to hear your stories, and to learn about what you’re doing to keep Arizona the best place to live, work, and raise a family. I will never forget all of the work and passion that you invested in me and in this campaign.
I am eager to continue working with you in defense of freedom, our Constitution, and our God-given rights.
